Top Free PlayStation Games 2021

Glenn Alexander 2021-03-18

Here we go. In a continuation to my series which I started at the beginning of this year, I am bringing to your attention some of the best FREE to play games across all platforms.

Today my focus is purely on Playstation and as a disclaimer which I also mentioned in my article for PC titles, I am very much known for my involvement with the Xbox brand but this does not take me away from being a gamer first and a lover of all games.

Speaking of PC games, if you’re keen to see what I had to say for my Top 15 Free To Play games for PC you can visit this link:

I am fortunate enough to own a Playstation 4 console along with a couple of other game platforms which allowed me to check which were the popular and more decent free to play games at the moment for the Playstation gamers.

Please do note, that the majority of the titles listed here also offer cross play and most of these titles are also found on other platforms too with the exception of some of them being exclusive to the Sony brand.

If at any point you think of a game title which should be listed here or I have missed completely, please feel free to @ me on Twitter @GlennZA letting me know and I will go check the game out for sure. In the same breath, if you disagree with my list of free to play titles please do let me know.

Browsing the F2P (Free To Play) section of the store can also be a good way to get a taste of a new genre you have not tried before? Or it gives you an opportunity to try a game that you're not too sure about. Especially if there are no demos available.

Then, if you're anything like me and trying to scrape together enough money to upgrade to the PS5, then having something you can play for free which means you don't have to give up your favourite pastime or your hard earned cash on other games.

My Top 15 FREE To Play Playstation Games (Alphabetical Order)

Yes this list above has some of the very usual suspects but boy oh boy who is going to complain especially when they are FREE right?

Like I did with my F2P PC list I’ve highlighted five of my personal favourites from the list above with a little synopsis of each title trying to not go with the blaring obvious like Fortnite, Apex Legends or Warzone.

Dead or Alive 6: Core Fighters lets you try one of the biggest fighting games out there before you buy it. But this is no limited demo.

While you'll be restricted to a handful of characters (which rotate out on a regular basis), you can still play the bulk of this frenetic 3D fighter's modes, including training mode, online battles and a portion of the game's story mode.

You'll make your way up a tower filled with brutal enemies to fight and powerful gear to earn, each floor adding more and more challenges.

Welcome to Rogue Company, the most elite group of mercenaries in the world! Choose your Rogue and dominate the competition with guns, gear, and guts.

Sure, this is another competitive shooter with optional microtransactions, but you can get started with the 4v4 objective-based battles for zero Rands.

With regular updates and a realistic but humorous tone, it's got several unique elements that may attract you to it rather than the other games in this highly competitive space.

Fibre Internet Connection - Optional but recommended

All of these titles will do well with an entry level 10Mbps uncapped fibre connection or better. But if you feel you need to upgrade your internet connection have a look on FibreTiger to see the best fibre and internet deals LTE/WiFi.

Well there you have it. My Top 15 list with 5 of my favourite Playstation games highlighted. Hopefully you also found a new gem in this list and will be spending some time with your friends instead of spending money on new games. If you found this list helpful in any way or discovered a new favourite game be sure to let me know on Twitter.
